
Mark Compton is founder and executive director of the Southern Appalachian International Film Festival. He believes filmmaking is a powerful medium that can reach everyone on a deeply personal level.
One of the locally-shot films screening at the festival is “This is Not the South,” which was made by a group of Bristol filmmakers. “This is Not the South” will screen on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 4 p.m. and will feature a panel discussion with four filmmakers on contemporary Appalachian filmmaking.
“It gives you some insights into Bristol itself and Bristol is really, in a way, the star of this film,” Compton said of “This is Not the South.” READ MORE
